I tried to explain it to my wife recently and came up terribly short (beyond, simply, that the Church teaches Christ had two wills).

I follow several OSR blogs, but yours remains my favorite!Hardradahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16839717341847947417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2290828421410624791.post-7790947511658382412017-08-15T13:36:37.119-05:002017-08-15T13:36:37.119-05:00REH's suicide is one of the great tragedies of...REH's suicide is one of the great tragedies of our literary legacy. I often wonder what great stories are left untold with his passing. REH characters are spectacular, and I quickly added the Del Rey compilation of 'The Savage Tales of Solomon Kane' to my shelves, and read it cover to cover.

His later adventures take Kane deep into Africa, where he encounters strange (and even ancient) supernatural forces. From the standpoint of "the hero's journey", we never fully get to see how "Solomon Kane, the Puritan" is transformed by this journey after his return home. It's the conclusion to an arc that I will have to complete in my own mind.welbohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00234798241485093836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2290828421410624791.post-63156351830681258962017-08-13T17:21:49.630-05:002017-08-13T17:21:49.630-05:00Yes, the relics are moved from one place to anothe...Yes, the relics are moved from one place to another. Transfiguration is on Au...Sorry I wasn't clear. Transfiguration is on August 6th. The Orthodox Church celebrates this feast until August 13th. The last day of a feast is called the Apodosis or the Leave-Taking where the hymns of the original feast are sung.

The relics of St. Maximus were translated on August 13th. Normally, this would be celebrated as a feast in its own right; however, the Leave-Taking of Transfiguration has precedence. Thus, the hymns for St. Maximus are not sung.

Since St. Maximus is a beloved saint, however, the church still wants to sing those hymns. Therefore, they are sung on the 12th, not the 13th even though his feast is on the 13th.

Is that more clear?

BTW the post you were looking for is this one:

http://bloodofprokopius.blogspot.com/2011/06/saintly-saturday-apodosis-of-nativity.htmlFrDavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00459281821319914530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2290828421410624791.post-73946071005496012532017-08-13T14:02:10.599-05:002017-08-13T14:02:10.599-05:00I didn't quite understand the first paragraph....I didn't quite understand the first paragraph.
